N’Golo Kanté joins Fenerbahce from Al Ittihad

Fenerbahce have confirmed the signing of midfielder N’Golo Kanté from Al Ittihad, bringing the 34-year-old back to European football after his 2023 move to the Saudi Pro League.

The Turkish club said negotiations had stalled earlier this week and claimed Al Ittihad did not follow FIFA procedures required for registering the transfer.

Al Ittihad later posted a farewell message on X, stating an agreement had been reached to sell the remaining term of Kanté’s contract.

Kanté won consecutive Premier League titles with Leicester City and Chelsea in 2016 and 2017, and later added the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea. He was also part of France’s World Cup-winning squad in 2018.

Kanté is the second French midfielder to join Fenerbahce in this window, following Matteo Guendouzi’s move to Istanbul.
