Nottingham Forest loan signing Lucca scores on debut in 3-1 loss at Leeds

Lorenzo Lucca scores with a header on his Nottingham Forest debut at Elland Road.

Nottingham Forest left Elland Road empty-handed on February 6, but they did get one bright moment to take home: Lorenzo Lucca scored on his debut in a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United.

Sean Dyche turned to the new striker early in the second half, sending him on in the 54th minute as Forest chased the game. Lucca delivered what Forest brought him for — a goal — rising to plant a header past the Leeds goalkeeper in the 86th minute, even if it only reduced the damage late on.

By then, Leeds had already done the decisive work, with Jayden Bogle, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin putting the home side in control. Forest’s debut goal gave the travelling fans something to cheer, but it couldn’t change the result.

Lucca arrived in January on loan from Napoli, with Forest holding an option to make the move permanent. The clubs haven’t published the full financial terms, and the price being mentioned in reports is still just that — reporting, not confirmation — but Lucca’s first appearance was the kind of start that keeps the conversation alive.
